Outdoor Facilities
The Knight-McCoy Track and Field Complex
Our track is a state-of-the-art six lane metered track. The track surface is a rubberized synthetic material; the same material found on the track at the Atlanta Olympic games. Our complex includes two long jump its, a pole vault pit, a high jump area, as well as a complete shot put and discus throwing areas. This complex serves our boys and girls varsity, junior varsity, middle school, and lower school track and field interscholastic teams. Additionally, this complex is in constant use by our students as they participate in off-season and in-season physical training.
Koltay Soccer Field
Our varsity soccer field is located within the track oval of the Knight-McCoy Track & Field Complex. Our field is fully watered and expertly maintained by our grounds crew.
East Soccer Field
This impressive soccer pitch is located on the eastern edge of our campus. It is very suitable for match play at all times, but mostly serves our interscholastic soccer teams as a practice field.
Field Hockey Field
Our varsity field hockey field has won acclaim from coaches and officials across the states of Ohio and Michigan. As is with the Koltay Soccer Field, our field hockey field is a fully watered and professionally groomed playing surface.
Middle School Field Hockey Field
Located just east of the varsity field hockey field, this facility provides an excellent playing and practice surface for our middle school field hockey athletes.
Tennis Courts
Maumee Valley has five outstanding tennis courts located on our campus. These courts are located just east of our new south parking lot. The court fences are fully wind-screened and further protected by a mature stand of pine trees. These courts serve both our boys and girls varsity and junior varsity tennis programs.
Indoor Facilities
The Johnson-Bayer Physical Education Complex
A new addition to Maumee Valley Country Day School, the Johnson-Bayer Physical Education Complex includes a new competition gym, a fitness center/weight training room, athletic administrative office space, a new training room, indoor concessions room, expanded hallways, and new public restrooms that serve both competition gyms.
The Fitness Center is equipped with Cybex strength machines, free weights, and Cybex and Trotter treadmills and bikes. This facility makes it possible for our students to achieve overall fitness as well as sport-specific strength and fitness training, on a year-round basis.
The new Johnson-Bayer gym features a high-quality "floating" wooden floor, and can accommodate two teams for practice at any time. The "JB Gym" serves as the home of Middle School basketball games. The indoor concessions area can serve both the new gym as well as the Varsity Gym during game days. The training room and office space will serve both the gyms, the fitness center, and even our outdoor facilities in the summer, fall, and spring.
The Varsity Gym, our original Upper School gym, seats a total of 345 fans and is the home of the Varsity and Junior Varsity Basketball teams. The size of the gym and the closeness of the seats to the floor make the gym an intimidating place for opponents.
The Lower School Gym
The Lower School Gym is a carpeted gym space that used as practice space for our middle school basketball programs, practice and competition space for our fifth and sixth grade basketball programs, and also serves as our classroom space for all lower school and press-school physical education classes. This gym also features a four-hundred square foot indoor climbing wall, where our students can experience top-rope belaying rock-climbing experience.
