Our program provides four olds with the opportunity to spend their day involved in creative play and hands-on activities. Learning centers (or creative corners) are set up in each classroom to allow free exploration. The creative corner may be a hospital, house, post office, bakery, grocery store or office. Other learning centers include computers, writing, science, blocks, listening and reading as well as water or sand play. The centers are designed to strengthen a child's motor, tactile and auditory skills.
The curriculum is designed to meet the basic developmental needs of preschool children. Teachers prepare the learning environment to include topics and themes that will capture the interest of this age group. Topics such as safety, health and nutrition, dinosaurs, growing things and seasons are perennial favorites. Students have opportunities to cook and eat a variety of foods, have parties and picnics, go on field trips and host guest speakers.
