A "Sister School" partnership between Maumee Valley Country Day School and Yanshan Univ./Yanshan Univ. Attachment School (Qinhuangdao, Hebei, China) was formalized on August 29, 2007. The formal signing was part of a two-day visit by a delegation from Yanshan Univ. The visitors observed classes, interacted with MVCDS students, and attended partnership planning meetings.

Zequan Liu, Director of the Division of International Cooperation at Yanshan Univ., said Yanshan Univ. Attachment School (YUAS) is honored to be Maumee Valley’s Sister School, and they hope to gain insights for both administrative and academic excellence. “The one thing about Maumee Valley that impressed YUAS the most,” he said, “is Maumee Valley's focus on nurturing students to become compassionate, educated and responsible global citizens.”
 
Maumee Valley’s partnership with YUAS is the latest in innovative planning aimed at helping MVCDS students learn to interact and cooperate with people from different backgrounds and cultures. Maumee Valley also offers Chinese Language and Culture courses in the Upper School. In all, Maumee Valley proudly welcomes more than 15 international students annually, including several from China.
