In the past two years, 81 MVCDS graduates have attended 53 different four year colleges throughout the country. Students matriculate at a range of schools: large, public universities like University of Michigan, Ohio State University, and Indiana University; small, private colleges like Williams College, Kenyon College, and Claremont McKenna College; and everything in between. Many students attend very selective colleges like Yale University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Carnegie Mellon University, and so on, and some students choose to apply to and attend colleges that have a certain program, major, athletic team, or location that appeals to them in particular.

In short, yes. Maumee Valley academics are tough, and colleges know this. So, while sometimes a student’s GPA is a little lower than it might be at another high school, their academic preparation has helped boost their SAT or ACT scores and also gives their grades a great deal of credibility because the admissions office knows they were earned in tough classes. Also, as part of our college advisor’s work, we bring people from colleges to campus and network with them to educate about the strengths and programs at Maumee Valley.
