Spring Break College Tour
The first annual college trip was a grand success. Twenty-five  students from the 10th and 11th grades visited 12 colleges in Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, and Illinois. Accompanying them were Jarin Jaffee, Darcy Gifford, and a courier from the College Preview college tour company. Click to find out more about last year's trip and plans for the 2007 Spring Break College Tour to schools in the Mid-Atlantic.

11th Grade College Field Trip
In the fall the entire junior class spends a day visiting one small, private college and one large, public university.  This experience gives students an early idea of what type of campus fits them best and what to expect, and how to proceed, with a college visit.  Last fall we traveled to Albion College and the University of Michigan.

College Essay Workshop
11th graders spend almost two weeks in English Class drafting, revising, editing, and finalizing their Common Application essay. With the help of their college advisor and their English instructor, the students go through a comprehensive writing process culminating with a day-long workshop in May featuring two admissions officers from selective colleges who look over each student's essay and make suggestions from the viewpoint of an admissions reader. This year's visitors were Liz Woyczynski, Director of Undergraduate Admissions at Case Western Reserve University, and Randi Heathman, Assistant Director of Admissions at Albion College.
