Financing an Independent School Education
We know that a Maumee Valley education can represent a significant financial investment for a family. But small classes, excellent facilities and outstanding teachers are not inexpensive. Families who understand that education is the best gift they can give their child are willing to seek creative ways to afford an MVCDS education:

Payment Plans. MVCDS offers extended payment plan options (3 payments or 12 monthly payments) through FACTS Tuition Management. All payments are automatically withdrawn from your checking or savings account.  You may also chose to pay 100% of the tuition directly to the school by July 25.  For an additional fee you may charge your payments to a credit card.

Need-Based Financial Aid. Students who have been accepted for admission may obtain financial aid information in the Admission Office. Maumee Valley seeks to enroll a diverse and talented student body and that involves not just racial, ethnic, cultural and religious diversity, but socio-economic diversity as well. For that reason the school is committed to a strong Financial Aid program. The number of aid recipients and the amount given to each family are determined by the school's Financial Aid Committee based on enrollment and budget considerations as well as a recommendation from FACTS Grant and Aid Assessment Service. Financial Aid is available for grades 1-12, although priority is given to students in grades 7-12.  If you have questions or concerns about the application process, please contact FACTS directly or call a Customer Care Representative at 1-866-315-9262.

Merit Scholarships. Each year Maumee Valley grants renewable merit awards (Centennial and 21st Century Scholarships) in the amounts of $1,000, $2,000 and $4,000 to students entering particular grades - usually sixth, seventh, eighth and ninth.

Loans. Apply for aid from a financial institution. Key Education Resources offers an Achiever Loan and First Marblehead offers its prepGATE loan program. SLM Financial Corporation, a Sallie Mae company, supports private K-12 education through their Family Education Loan Program. Contact these institutions for more details.

Education Savings Accounts.
Parents of young children could consider placing money in such an account to save for high school or college years. Monies in an Education Savings Account accrue interest tax-free and withdrawals are not subject to taxation if used for education.

Relatives. Consider asking a grandparent or other relative to help fund tuition. Arrangements may be made with the Business Office to have bills sent directly to this person.

Complete information on tuition and payment plans may be obtained from the Admission Office.
