African American Society
Upper School and faculty members meet regularly to discuss issues of interest. The group sponsors a biennial symposium.

Book Club
Upper School and faculty meet to discuss books of interest.

Chess Club
Third graders through the Upper School meet to enhance playing skills. The Upper School Team competes in the Interscholastic Chess League. MV hosts two tournaments: the Pokryzwa Team in October and the Robert W. Beech Tournament in January.

Coffee House
Sponsored by the Student Council, coffeehouse occurs four times a year. Upper School Students make presentations based on their special talents or gifts.

Community Service Club
Students reach out to the community beyond their service requirement. Every spring students host a luncheon for the senior citizens at Swan Creek Retirement Village.

Drama Club
Members assist with the Drama Department’s two annual productions and organize field trips to attend productions in the area.

Global Issues Club
Upper School students carry on with the goals of MV’s Global Initiative and look at and discuss global and local issues

Literary Magazine
Upper School students share art, photography, stories, essays, and poems which are published once a year.

Math Club
Upper School students prepare for math competitions, two of which are the American Mathematical Competition and the Ohio Council of Teachers of Mathematics Competition.

Maverick Newspaper
Middle and Upper School students share school news and their opinions in the school newspaper.  

Movie Club
Upper School students are involved in original film and digital video productions as well as watching and discussing classic films.

Muslim American Society
Provides activities to promote cordial relationships between muslim and non-muslims on campus.

Quiz Bowl

Upper School students prepare for academic competitions between Northwest Ohio schools.

Soapbox at Friday Assemblies
Upper School students are invited to share their opinions and ideas on issues they care about in a safe, respectful environment.

Spongee Polo
Students play the game and present exhibition games at pep rallies and other campus events.

Student Council
This group sponsors many events, including the homecoming dance, a yearly bonfire, the Valentine’s dance, spelling bees, scrabble tournament and soapbox presentations.

Upper School Chorus
Chorus is an elective in the Fine Arts Department open to all students in grades 9 through 12. Rehearsals are twice a week and students receive and academic grade. Auditions are held for soloists and members interested in singing with the Vocal Chamber Ensemble.

Weathervane Yearbook
This publication illustrates the various sports and activities at MV. Students produce a DVD supplement that requires film-making, editing, and music recording.
