Maumee Valley's long-standing commitment to faculty professional development extends to the Global Education Program. As the administration works to improve the faculty evaluation and professional development process, teachers will further benefit from endowed funding and active encouragement to travel, attend conferences, and enroll in graduate coursework that will enhance international and cross-cultural instruction for Maumee Valley students.  Professional development through the GEP includes (current and future plans):

  • coursework at Bowling Green State University's Master's in Cross-Cultural & International Educaton program
  • graduate coursework at other universities
  • "Dream Odyssey" program used to fund cultural immersion and international travel experiences
  • summer workshops and classes for teachers featuring experts in global education
  • acquiring grants specific to global education faculty development during the summers
  • collaboration with the faculty professional development committee to provide regular communication via email of opportunities for teachers in the area of global education
