MVCDS Hires Brian Oliver as the New Head of Upper School for 2016-17

Maumee Valley Country Day School is pleased to announce our new Head of Upper School, Brian Oliver. Oliver will serve as the new Head of Upper School beginning July 1, 2016.

Brian Oliver comes to MVCDS from the Wakefield School in Linden, VA. He has a MA in science from Wesleyan University and a BA in economics from Trinity College.
“I'm excited to announce the hiring of Brian Oliver to be the new Head of Upper School at Maumee Valley. Brian brings a wealth of independent school experience with him, as a student, a teacher, and an administrator. Brian is excited about the school's vision and our commitment to providing students with a personal, experiential, and global experience,” remarked Head of School Gary Boehm.

Oliver comes to Maumee Valley with over twenty years of experience and is currently the Head of both Upper and Middle Schools at Wakefield School in Linden, VA. Throughout his career Brian has been an assistant head, dean of students, and a chemistry teacher. Brian has also been a hockey, soccer, and lacrosse coach.

Brian is relocating to Toledo with his wife Alison and three daughters, Quinn, Avery, and Harper. In his free time he enjoys remolding houses and building furniture using recycled or non-traditional parts. The Oliver family is eager to relocate to Toledo and is looking forward to being closer to family located within the region.

The Maumee Valley community is excited to welcome Brian to the school and to Northwest Ohio.
