Students Enjoy a Visit from a Mobile Science Lab

Maumee Valley Country Day School students were visited by the Wyland Foundation’s Clean Water Mobile Learning Experience Friday, November 18th. This mobile science education center tours the country in a semi-truck, educating students about the importance of protecting our fresh water sources: lakes, rivers, estuaries, wetlands, and streams. The lab contains interactive displays, a rain machine, and a movie theater. This unique education opportunity for our students was provided by Renee Thomas, a 1987 MVCDS graduate, and her mother, Marie Thomas, who used to teach in the Lower School at Maumee Valley. Renee and Marie both live in California and are enthusiastic supporters of the Wyland Foundation and because of their generosity, MVCDS students enjoyed and learned from the displays.
