Maumee Valley Country Day School is seeking a highly organized, self-directed, self-starter to serve as the Extended Time Care Assistant Director who will oversee our before and after school care for prekindergarten through eighth grade students. The assistant supervisor is responsible for managing the school’s before and after school programs, including clubs, when scheduled. This position has the responsibility of ensuring all students from the Prekindergarten through 8th grade are accounted for while on our campus. The Extended Time Care (ETC) program is considered an extension of the school’s curricular day, and, as such, must have programming that is mission and vision appropriate.
This position reports to the Head of Lower School and collaborates closely with the faculty, staff, and families of the lower school students.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
Maintain the ETC and after school clubs resource board
Maintain the ETC schedule of staff and ETC locations/program- including late start and inservice days and scheduling on-call/subs as needed
In the event there is a sub shortage, work with children in the areas of need (be a substitute to ensure we maintain our preferred ratio of at least two adults in each area)
Responsible for managing the ETC billing process
Provide ETC staff members with feedback on how they are doing well and suggestions for improvement
Supervise the activities/crafts/games to ensure we are providing hands-on engaging experiences for our students
Create quarterly newsletters and work with the Director of Marketing and Communications to showcase ETC on social media
Purchase and organize ETC snacks
Assist in hiring ETC staff members and ensure proper certification of ETC employees working in preschool grades
Provide annual evaluations of ETC staff members
Maintain the ETC budget in partnership with the Head of the Lower School and the Admin Assistant of PK-MS
Be the emergency contact person/available on-campus during the hours of afternoon ETC 2:45-6:00 pm
Maintain and review the ETC handbook, forms, and policies
Lead ETC staff in weekly team meetings and training
Provide a positive culture of the team by celebrating birthdays, holidays, and big accomplishments of the ETC team
Manage and sign off on timesheets
Respond to parent emails/phone calls/communication within 24 business hours
Any other responsibilities as listed by the Head of the Lower School

This position works 185 day work schedule for four hours per day or 20 hours per week with some exceptions:
Summer Camp Program
The hours of operation are before school from 7:30a-8:30a and after school from 2:45p-6p. The hours this position requires are from 2p-6p Monday through Friday. On the days listed above, the assistant director needs to be present for additional hours to ensure the program runs smoothly and safely. The first day actively at work is the first day of opening week for all faculty and staff (on or around August 9) and the last day worked will be the last day faculty are on campus (on or around June 3). Salary is paid once per month on the 15th of the month beginning September 15 and ending June 15. The actual days worked will vary depending on the school’s master calendar and summer camp programming.
