Maumee Valley Country Day School is seeking an educational technologist/technology teacher who orchestrates learning for students in ways that are engaging, challenging, and relevant. The successful candidate is a resourceful and innovative employee who uses a range of pedagogical techniques in order to reach all learners. All learners will feel safe, respected, and confident in the environment created by this candidate. This position shares time with the technology department performing break-fix, device management, and system-deployment initiatives during the school year and the summer.
This position reports to the director of technology and collaborates closely with the head of Middle School. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Service faculty technology needs via help desk
- Deploy and maintain all manner of school technology
- Teach Lower and Middle School students to use technology as articulated in the technology curriculum
- Teach Intensive courses with 7th/8th grade students
- Develop, coordinate, and teach workshops on instructional and administrative applications of technology
- Model current advances in technology and possess the passion to stay abreast of latest developments in the field
- Manage user accounts and permissions in Google domain and roster driven systems
- Assist in the integration of technology applications across the K-12 curriculum
- Assist in management of and training for MyMV, the student information system
- Train and manage a Tech Club of students that will provide multimedia support to faculty and at school events
- Support the school and its leadership
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
- Ability to program and code using a variety of languages and systems
- Familiarity with online learning resources
- Ability to work with students and teachers to support, supplement, and enhance teaching and learning through technology
- Must possess a collaborative nature and be forward thinking
- Ability to mentor and train faculty in the use of technology in order to enhance the students’ educational experience
- Strong problem solving skills
- Outstanding project management and communications skills, both verbal and written
- Strong interpersonal skills to relate well with students, staff, administration, parents, and the community
- Ability to lift over 40 pounds and work in tech infrastructure spaces (ceilings, server room, switch closets)
CREDENTIALS
The ideal candidate will have the following minimum experience:
- Classroom teaching experience in a K-12 setting
- Work experience in a technology-related field
- A master’s degree in education or related field is preferred.
FACULTY
Must be willing and able to secure an
Ohio Permanent Non-Tax certificate or Professional Teaching License. The school will support you in obtaining this once hired. However, it must be secured within the first six months of employment for compliance purposes.
