Position opening: Long-term substitute teacher--Upper School English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) instructor

Maumee Valley Country Day School is seeking a dynamic educator who orchestrates learning for students in ways that are engaging, challenging, and relevant. The successful candidate is a resourceful teacher who uses a range of pedagogical techniques in order to reach all learners and forge strong relationships with students and families. 

The ESOL teacher is responsible for teaching and supporting our non-native English-speaking Upper School students who are still building their English language skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing. 

Key Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Teach two sections of Upper School ESOL
  • Teach, assess, adjust, re-teach, and re-assess students in order to document growth and achievement
  • Group and Individual Instruction

  • Works Independently with little direct supervision
  • The successful candidate has the following qualifications:
    • Bachelor’s degree and ESOL certification in relevant fields is required.
    • Experience in teaching ESOL
