Sharon Louise Coffin - former faculty 40 + years

Sharon Louise Coffin passed away early Friday morning, March 9, 2018 at The Toledo Hospital.

Sharon Louise Smith was born to parents Robert Nelson Smith and Marilyn Collins Smith in Columbus, OH. The family moved to Toledo where Sharon later graduated from Ottawa Hills High School. She attended The Ohio State University where she found a passion for teaching. Sharon taught hundreds of children and changed so many lives for the better in her 40 plus years of teaching at Maumee Valley Country Day School. She had a fondness for butterflies and flowers, along with glass and precious stones in all their unique and wonderful colors.Sharon was indeed unique and wonderfully colorful. She will be dearly missed.

She is survived by her son, Bradley; her sister, Sandy; brother, Robert; sisters, Marilyn, Marcia and Elizabeth.A Memorial Celebration of her life will be held at the Foth-Dorfmeyer Mortuary, 3815 W Sylvania, Toledo, OH 43623 on Friday, March 23 from 4-7 p.m. Laugh, cry, chat, reminisce. From 6:30-7 p.m., those who would like to say a few words or tell some stories about Sharon are welcome to do so.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Maumee Valley Country Day School, 1715 S. Reynolds Rd., Toledo, OH 43614 to benefit an education scholarship fund that has been established in Sharon's name.
