Hawks Robotics overcomes last-minute robot rebuild, advances to regionals

The Hawks will advance to travel to Denver for the regional competition on Dec. 10-12
The MVCDS Hawks Robotics team showcased tremendous resiliency, while overcoming last-minute adversity to qualify for the 2021 BEST Robotics Regional Competition in Denver in December.

A late Friday discovery that a non-compliant material was used to construct some critical parts of the robot forced the team to build an entirely new robot the night before the competition.

It took eight hours of work and the robot was ready at 11:30 p.m. — just hours before the Saturday competition at Bowling Green State University.

After showcasing great teamwork, MV's 50-person team walked out of the Perry Fieldhouse with the FalconBEST award! The award goes to the team with a combined high score between the engineering notebook, trade show booth presentation, marketing presentation and robotics competition.

The team earned first place in the robotics competition against eight teams, first place t-shirt, team video and team website. The Hawks will advance to travel to Denver for the regional competition on Dec. 10-12. Thanks to the MV Hawks robotics' parents that support this excellent team.

Please congratulate the team on this hard-earned victory.
