Join LS families at Nov. 21 Fall Harvest Family Gathering
The Fall Harvest Family Gathering will take the place of Stone Soup this year as we are in year B of our two-year curriculum cycle. But don’t worry! Stone Soup will return next year (year A).
Our Fall Harvest is an opportunity to celebrate a successful and bountiful harvest of crops and break bread together. Our celebration will be centered around the book "Bread, Bread, Bread" by Ann Morris.
About the book: Bread is a food enjoyed by people in all parts of the world. Its many shapes, sizes, textures, and colors are as varied as the people who eat it. This photographic round-the-world tour provides a glimpse into the rich variety of world cultures, as well as an informative look at an important food that everyone agrees is as necessary as water and air.
This year’s Fall Harvest is Tuesday, Nov. 21, starting with a classroom celebration from 8:15-8:50 a.m., followed by a musical performance in the Millennium Theatre starting at 9 a.m. We will gather at the conclusion of the performance to break bread and enjoy time together.
We are asking families to bring in a loaf of their favorite bread to share, and our Lower School students will prepare the butter, jam, fruits, and veggies. We invite all Lower School families to join us for this joyous occasion.
Please note: Due to our expanded celebration and capacity limits, each family may bring up to two guests to this event. Siblings will be seated together regardless of grade level. Please click here to RSVP. Families are invited to donate canned food to our food drive benefiting SeaGate Food Bank of Northwest Ohio.
Maumee Valley Country Day School is the only PreK-12th grade accredited, co-educational, and independent school in Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan.
