The Jonathan Krueger ’12 Experiential Education Fund provides financial assistance to students who plan to undertake an experiential learning opportunity outside of the classroom, complementary to the official curriculum (such as MV Intensives).
Students are requested to submit a 300-word essay answering the question explaining: What do you hope to gain from this experiential opportunity that you wouldn’t otherwise be provided if you didn’t have the financial resources? Students interested in applying for the scholarship for the 2025-2026 school year should submit their 300-word essay to Amy Yustick, Director of Advancement at [email protected] by Friday, April 25.
Questions should be directed toward Stephanie Harman, head of Upper School, or Mrs. Yustick, director of advancement and strategy.
Background
Jonathan Krueger ’12, a “Lifer” at Maumee Valley, was a beloved student and leader. He was team co-captain of the school’s basketball team his junior and senior years, helping to lead his team to victory after victory. His buzzer-beater three-point shot for the win against a rival school may be the most defining moment of his high school basketball career, and will forever be remembered by his teammates, coaches, and fans.
Jonathan studied photography and became known as “the man behind the camera,” never missing an opportunity to capture life at the school through his lens. Believing that education is more than what you learn in class, Jonathan was especially appreciative of the opportunities he had to apprentice through what he viewed as “life-changing” experiences outside of the classroom.
