A unique aspect of Maumee Valley’s residential program is the opportunity to connect with a buddy family who finds opportunities to invite our boarding students to movies, family dinners, and other off-campus activities throughout the school year. In other words, residential students have a “home away from home” as the program gives students a regular family connection in that transition toward greater independence during the formative high school years.
A few occasions students spend time with a buddy family include:
- birthdays & holiday celebrations.
- ski trip or other activity over a long weekend.
- college visits.
- movies, bowling, or family game night.
- help with transportation when the student has an appointment off-campus.
