Being a resident in the Dayal House is not like living in a dorm at all, it is more like being a part of a big family and a wonderful community.

Uniquely Prepared & Confident

Research shows boarding school graduates are uniquely prepared for success in college and beyond. The Association of Boarding Schools outlines the five advantages to boarding schools:

  • Boarding schools typically have superior academics including small class sizes, increased interaction with faculty, and excellent college placement programs. Boarding school students spend twice as many hours a week on homework than their peers in public schools.
  • A residential campus environment immerses students in a unique setting that fosters extremely close relationships built on a common experience and the “24-Hour Learning” that comes with the fact that students are tremendously active outside the classroom. In fact, boarding school students participate in more extracurricular activities than other students, including exercising and playing sports, engaging in the arts, or participating in leadership and club activities.
  • Students enjoy and take on the responsibility of appropriate independence. Living on campus forces students to learn how to live with and among peers from different backgrounds and provides countless teachable moments and leadership opportunities. One distinctive characteristic of boarding schools is that character development counts as much as academics. When teachers live among students and students live away from home there is an amazing degree of self-discipline and independent thought. Leadership opportunities also emerge: three quarters of boarding school students say they have earned leadership opportunities.
  • Boarding school graduates are uniquely prepared for college life. Statistics reveal that graduates, on average, attend the nation's finest universities and arrive at college better prepared for both the academic rigor and social challenges that universities present.
  • Boarding school graduates are conditioned for future success. By the time graduates arrive at their first professional job, they're fully prepared for the challenges of adult life. Studies show that they rapidly advance in their professional careers, and are more engaged in their communities than their peers by a margin of over 15%.
