Alumni Award Categories

Alumni Achievement Award recognizes the service and achievement of a Maumee Valley Country Day School alumnus or alumna who has demonstrated unique or significant accomplishments in any of the following categories: career and professionalism, volunteerism, or service to Maumee Valley Country Day School.
 
Alumni Service Award recognizes a Maumee Valley Country Day School alumnus or alumna who has given outstanding service to a MVCDS event or activity.
 
Lifetime Dedication Award recognizes the outstanding contributions of a Maumee Valley Country Day School alumnus or alumna who has shown dedication and service to MVCDS.

Alumni Parent Dedication Award recognizes the continued volunteer dedication of a parent of an alumnus/a beyond the years when his or her child or children were students at Maumee Valley Country Day School.

Young Alumni Achievemen
t Award
recognizes the achievements of a Maumee Valley Country Day School alumnus or alumna who is under the age of 40 years.


 

Nomination/Selection Process

Alumni Achievement Award:
Nomination/ Selection Process
  • Nominations are open to alumni year around, however, the Alumni Council President, with support from the Alumni Relations Director, will solicit nominations from alumni by September 15.
  • Candidates are voted on by members of the Alumni Council at the Fall/ Homecoming Council meeting. The Alumni Council submits its official recommendation to the Alumni Relations Director, Head of School and Advancement Director for consideration.
  • The award recipient is selected by Head of School, Advancement Director and Alumni Relations Director.
  • The Head of School, Advancement Director and Alumni Relations Director will also choose a “back-up” candidate in case the first choice cannot accept, or is not comfortable making a keynote address.
  • The Head of School invites the chosen nominee to accept the award during the Annual Alumni Smead Luncheon Awards Presentation.  
  • Candidates who are not chosen to receive the award are automatically added to the queue for consideration for the following year.

  • The Alumni Service Award can also be given posthumously to anyone fitting the above criteria. A relative will be asked to receive the award in honor of the deceased.
