A Speaker Series Event April 19, 2017

The Speaker Series committee has invited SCAR (Safe Conversation About Race) to discuss racial issues, harmony, and justice on April 19, 2017, 6:30pm in the K Center at Maumee Valley Country Day School.

The conversation will open with a moderated, candid dialogue about race between James A. White and Suzanne Roberts.
James is the chairman of Performance Consulting Services in Columbus, Ohio. He held positions at Xerox, Wang Laboratories and Digital Equipment Corporation and has spent the past 25 years as a consultant and educator. His aim is to share his experiences of racism and emphasize the idea that all races, genders and backgrounds must come together to challenge the status quo.

Suzanne Roberts is the inventor of Women Generating, which authorizes women to positively reshape the world beyond former social standards. She served on the Board of Directors of the Center for Wholeness, was Co-Chair of the Ohio Aids Coalition and a temporary faculty member of Antioch West. She led a multi-organizational fundraiser for Sexual and Domestic Violence and also facilitated the Ohio AIDS Coalition Healing Weekends.
