Middle School Mathletes qualify for chapter invite, eye state berth

Students must either score in the top 20 percent of their chapter or be the highest-scoring student at their school.
Our Middle School Mathletes did phenomenal in a recent virtual competition.

Maumee Valley Country Day School had four students qualify for the MATHCOUNTS Competition Series chapter invitational. Students must either score in the top 20 percent of their chapter or be the highest-scoring student at their school.

Aarian Ahlawat (15th), Allan Zheng (7th), Eric Tang (13th), and Joshua Wang (3rd) will compete virtually on Feb. 25.

The top five students from each chapter invitational advance to the state competition. The 10 next-highest scoring students across Ohio also advance to states.

Others who competed with the Mathletes include Freddy Muler, Katherine Zheng, Mira Weingarden, Nathaniel Martin, Rami Ridi, and Shrishte Baskara.

MATHCOUNTS is the nation's premier middle school math competition. The non-profit brings together students from all 50 states for various rounds of competition.

Great job, Mathletes!
