Shifting From Surviving to Thriving in a Remote Learning Environment

Maumee Valley's Paige Espiritu shared her experiences of "Shifting From Surviving to Thriving in a Remote Learning Environment" during a presentation Tuesday, April 13, at the Ohio Educational Technology Conference.
Espiritu shared with other Ohio educators my experiences with remote learning and the tools and tricks that help her students thrive.

Through trial and error, teachers all worked to find their groove in what became the "new normal" of remote learning during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Espiritu, a remote learning teacher for grades 2-4, shared how she worked to shift her mindset and teaching from surviving to thriving. With the help of trial and error, laughter, and tears, she has worked to foster a community of thriving learners in her digital classroom.

She showed a plethora of tools, tricks, and digital resources to engage classes in high-impact learning. Her session covered topics and tools related to community building, curriculum differentiation, and project-based learning to increase student autonomy and engagement.

Great job, Paige!
