Maumee Valley's student-led Issue Day features more than a dozen speakers Friday, March 11

Issue Day is a Maumee Valley event with decades of history and is meant to serve as an opportunity for learning, growth, and community building for our Upper School community.
A signature Upper School program that is entirely student-led will feature 17 speakers, breakout sessions, and a simulation on Friday, March 11.

Erin Wiley, an on-air consultant specializing in teens, will be the featured speaker and plans to discuss teen mental health and resilience in a post-pandemic world.
The schedule and program for the day are attached as photos to the right.

This year's theme is "The World We Want to Live in."

Issue Day is a Maumee Valley event with decades of history and is meant to serve as an opportunity for learning, growth, and community building for our Upper School community.

The event is a committee under the umbrella of Global Leadership Program in the Upper School since 2006, Issue Day involves students from all Upper School classes working together to put on the event.

Issue Day has been a Maumee Valley staple since 1994 and used to be a production of the 11th grade class each school year. Previously, all students in the class contributed to the day in some way and students from other schools attended the event at MV.
After the keynote speaker in the Millennium Theatre there will be two speakers during the morning.

A student-led simulation after lunch will focus on access to education and information.

Students have been working hard to organize the first in-person Issue Day since before the pandemic.
