Youth Outreach Club book drive helps local readers
Congratulations to the Upper School Youth Outreach Club for delivering nearly 1,500 books to students in grades K-6 attending Whittier Elementary School in Toledo.
The 13-member club created the drive to spread the joy of reading. They set up a "store" inside Whittier's library using books donated by MV families and students.
Our students acted as personal shoppers during the event, helping students pick books that matched their interests and allowing each to go home with multiple books.
The outreach ended with a group reading activity.
