Portrait of a Maumee Valley Graduate
Maumee Valley Country Day School designs its academic program to produce graduates who are “enlightened” because they are literate in the language of academic disciplines. They know how to be scientists, mathematicians, social scientists, artists, and literary critics. They know how to ask questions and how to acquire and evaluate information.
Maumee Valley graduates develop and share original ideas with the tools available in our 21st century world and they know how to learn and persevere to achieve long-term goals. Because they know themselves, Maumee Valley graduates have the foundation to be “compassionate.” They understand how others think and feel and have the capacity to face challenging ethical decisions.
Maumee Valley graduates are “contributing global citizens” because they are aware of global issues. They are critical thinkers and problem solvers able to create networks of people and resources to collaboratively take action and serve the greater good. MVCDS graduates are prepared for “their best opportunities in higher education” because they are independent learners who take responsibility for their own education and who seek opportunities to learn.
In college and beyond, our graduates will continue to seek a wide range of experiences and pursue specific interests passionately just as they have done at Maumee Valley.
