Tips on selecting, discussing Halloween costumes

As you talk with your child about costume choices for wearing at school, please be mindful of the cultural nuances attached to certain costumes.

It’s important to be culturally sensitive and stay away from costumes that represent an individual’s identity. And as a matter of safety, please remind your child that props such as weapons, wands, shields, and anything not attached to the costume need to be left at home.
