Spanish Teacher, Lower School
We are seeking a highly motivated, enthusiastic, engaging and experienced Spanish teacher to collaborate in developing and delivering a challenging, yet developmentally appropriate, academic Spanish program for lower school students. Applicants must have a clear understanding of the developmental and academic needs of lower school students and show a willingness to work both independently and collaboratively. The successful candidate should possess extensive experience in elementary Spanish curriculum design and classroom teaching, as well as a native or near-native proficiency in spoken and written Spanish. The teacher must have computer literacy and familiarity with Internet resources for the teaching of Spanish and possess personal traits appropriate for nurturing the growth of children. 
 
Key Responsibilities and Duties
  • Develop and implement lesson plans in the target language.
  • Use highly interactive, multi-modal and developmentally appropriate teaching and classroom management practices.
  • Provide extra help to students individually or as a group.
  • Demonstrate collegiality and an eagerness to collaborate with colleagues to enhance the instructional environment.

  • Maintain effective and efficient record keeping procedures.

  • Bachelors or Masters Degree in Spanish
  • An official ACTFL Oral Proficiency Interview rating at the
    Intermediate-High level or better is required
  • Three to Five years teaching Spanish in lower school

  • Ohio Certification to teach K-6 Spanish




Director, Early Learning Center
The Director of Early Learning Center is responsible for providing overall leadership for the preschool program at MVCDS. The Director facilitates preschool team meetings and decision making and also manages day-to-day issues of the center. This position serves as liaison with the MVCDS development and admissions offices. The Director assists with small groups of students as well as provides testing and observational assessment of students as needed. The Director is responsible for providing performance feedback and reviews for all ELC teaching staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee all aspects of the Early Learning Center
  • Facilitate ongoing review and development of curriculum
  • Provide professional development opportunities for ELC faculty
  • Direct program operations
  • Provide personnel management, including performance reviews

  • Valid Ohio Teacher’s license
 


Upper School Science Teacher (Part Time)
 
The successful candidate for the part-time Upper School Science Teacher position at MVCDS will be responsible for teaching two (2), fifty (50) minute laboratory science classes five (5) days a week in the Upper School.
