5th graders connect with peers in Ecuador
As our friends at Steiner School in Ecuador ended their school year, we are grateful for this weekly language connection that allowed 5th graders to make new friends in a real-life context, learn about cultural differences, and grow in their conversational skills, pronunciation, listening comprehension, and empathy toward those learning English.
One of our most recent topics was “The House of My Dreams.”
Students took turns describing the house of their dreams while the others in the group asked questions and had to draw the house they heard about. Then, the lead student identified the house that was the closest match to the house of their dreams!
An abundance of thanks to Ms. Mayra for inviting us to initiate this connection that helped us get acquainted and look forward to our international visits to each other's schools in the future.
