Ohio SGO Tax Credit
The Ohio Scholarship Granting Organization (SGO) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that receives donations from individuals to provide academic scholarships to K-12 students. It is not an expense, but a dollar-for-dollar tax credit (up to $750 for single filers and $1,500 for joint filers), meaning you redirect funds you would already pay in state taxes directly to student scholarships.
You don’t lose money; you simply choose where a portion of your Ohio tax liability is invested.
