On Samstag, November 16, 2024, Chinese students and staff from Maumee Valley’s Dayal House residence hall helped kick off the holiday season by participating in the 37th annual Blade Holiday Parade in downtown Toledo.

They wore costumes and carried signs in support of the Chinese Association of Greater Toledo, the Chinese Center of Toledo, and the Chinese Alliance Church. The parade featured giant balloons, local marching bands, horses, and floats, culminating in Santa’s debut.
The Chinese Association of Greater Toledo, established in 1965, is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting Chinese culture, tradition, and language within the community.
Their participation in the parade highlights the vibrant cultural diversity present in Toledo and the active involvement of Maumee Valley’s international students in local events.
