Twenty-seven MVCDS students attended the Candian American Security Council (CASC) in Lansing, MI, over the weekend representing everyone from the US and China to Guatemala and Liberia. There were numerous councils running, including the Security Council, the European Union, NATO, the Arab League, the Organization of American States, and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations.
After taking 2nd place in the local, FalconBEST competition in Oct, this weekend the MV Hawks Robotics team and 39 other competing teams will attend the BEST Robotics regional competition in Denver Colorado. Our thirty-four 7th through 12th grade MV students and 17 of their parents will attend Saturday’s Marketing and trade show booth presentations followed by Sunday's robot competition.
This year the competition focuses on engineering and fabricating robots to restore electricity to a simulated disaster environment. Day one consists of “selling" our robotic solution while Day 2 is the actual driving event. The team has spent over 13 weeks designing, documenting, programming and building products for this competition. Please wish us luck and safe travels on our trip to be the BEST robotics team!
