Student research appears in scholarly journal

Congratulations to three MV students for contributing to research published in a scientific journal.
Gurnoor Patti '24, Eric Tang '25, and Joshua Wang '25 conducted the research while enrolled in the Summer Biomedical Science Program in Bioinformatics at The University of Toledo.

Eric is an author of "Probiotic Protects Kidneys Exposed to Microcystin-LR'; Gurnoor and Joshua are authors of "Shared and unique transcriptional changes in the orbitofrontal cortex in psychiatric disorders and suicide." Both articles appear in the latest issue of "Translation: The University of Toledo Journal of Medical Sciences."

During the summer course, the students participated in lectures, workshops, and team meetings on bioinformatics, which combines biology with computer science and statistics. They took that new knowledge into labs, where they worked alongside UT graduate students and professors.
