Each year in the Middle School culminates with weeklong class trips before Spring Break. Students are grouped in small numbers to allow bonding experiences and easy management. Each is chaperoned by teachers and transportation and lodging are arranged and provided for by the school.
Interdisciplinary Connections
Students in upper grades within the Middle School have the opportunity to go on travel trips beyond Toledo. Seventh graders visit Chicago while eighth graders visit Washington, D.C., where they visit important landmarks pertaining to American history. By the end of these trip, students have gain a newfound sense of patriotism, camaraderie, and independence. Team teaching allows for interdisciplinary connections to occur, making the learning intentional and connected for students.
Intensives
The Middle School academic program recognizes the importance of exposing students to a variety of learning experiences, in addition to a rigorous core course of study. The elective program is one that offers a personalized education through choice, the pursuit of passion, and exploring various interests. Students select and are enrolled in two electives which are implemented during an extended time block over the course of three weeks.
