Physical Education

The Lower School Physical Education program components are taught through the combination of a movement-oriented, developmental approach. Movement education is child-centered and is designed to help children develop greater awareness, confidence, and skills in sports and health related activities. The developmental approach takes the student and their present fitness and skill level and gradually moves to higher and more detailed levels. Physical Education instruction is adapted to the individual differences of the children as they develop socially, emotionally, mentally, and physically. Our students have the unique opportunity to climb on an indoor climbing wall and participate in a variety of team building experiences with our outdoor Adventure Challenge Course. The ultimate goal of a Maumee Valley Physical Education is for students to pursue a healthy, physically active lifestyle, emphasizing enjoyment and learning the values of fitness.
Maumee Valley Country Day School is the only PreK-12th grade accredited, co-educational, and independent school in Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan.
